1. Cough Syrup

Cough syrup is a mixture of honey and water. Add 1 cup of honey and 2 cups of water to a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Simmer the mixture until the sugar dissolves completely (about 5 minutes). Remove the pan from the stove and let cool slightly before adding the apple juice. Stir well and strain out any solids. Store the syrup in a jar in the refrigerator.

2. Tea

Add 4-5 slices of fresh apples to a pot filled with boiling water. Cover the pot and steep the tea for 10 minutes. Strain the liquid and add honey if desired. Drink hot or cold.

3. Juice

Peel and core the apples and place them in a juicer. Pour the juice into a glass container and refrigerate. You may drink the juice straight away or store it in the fridge for later consumption.

4. Tincture

Mix equal parts of apple cider vinegar and vodka. Allow the mixture to sit for at least 24 hours. Strain the mixture and pour it into a dropper bottle. Take 1-2 drops under the tongue twice daily.

5. Compress

Place the sliced apples in a bowl. Mix together 1/2 cup of baking soda and 1 tablespoon of salt. Sprinkle the mixture over the apples and allow the mixture to sit overnight. In the morning, squeeze the mixture between two clean cloth towels to remove excess moisture. Place the compressed apples in a zip lock bag and keep them in the freezer. Use the frozen apple compress to ease sore throats.

6. Gargle

Gargle with warm apple cider vinegar mixed with honey.
